CUT-A-TRACK:
[ 1x 4-6weeks ]
An opportunity to write & record your own track in a professional studio setting with mentoring from experts in the music industry - the result being a credible WAV file that can be used on all music platforms & social media.

Antidote. Hip Hop Collective & Design Your Future young artists/newcomers are ​led by experienced creative dept lead & music producer/artist Vonte Grace (@vontegrace).
Vonte has a powerful lived-experience story of change, & is an inspirational role model for all young people.

Vonte works alongside our artist lead AJ+ (@sirplusaj) & the rest of the collective artists to produce positive music with a positive message, as well as operating the SOUND ADVICE community music studio for young people / young adults - based in Hanley.

If the knife wand indicates the presence of a knife, staff are required to carry out an outer-garment search.

If a knife is detected and an individual refuses to hand it over, we reserve the right to refuse entry to the studio.

This project focuses on ENGAGING YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH MUSIC & CREATIVE ARTS music, also delivering lived experience mentoring to support young people / young artists.

This project provides a positive ‘counter-culture’ option to tackle ‘negative music influences & influencers’ that are prevalent in today’s youth culture & aims to be diversionary in nature providing positive platforms, performance opportunities & PURPOSE.

About Us

Youth Music is a national charity. They help marginalised young people to find their future through music.

Every year, they raise £10 million to fund inspirational grassroots music projects and support aspiring young creatives up and down the UK.

They're campaigning to break down barriers for young people facing inequity, exclusion and discrimination.

Youth Music is currently funded thanks to the National Lottery via Arts Council England, players of People's Postcode Lottery and support from partners, fundraisers and donors.

‘if it wasn’t for doing Hip-Hop school with Ruff & Ruby on a Saturday I would have got into ‘bare trouble’ in the shopping centre causing chaos & stealing - my YO worker told me about it & ive been working on my ‘verse’ talented to tell my story of child abuse & being in the care system- I even designed a tee shirt to big up my mates & my city that said ‘STOKE- Swag That Other Kids Envy – R & R helped me to realise that I can turn about what happened to me for good & not hate the world cos’ of it.
